There is something about Ashley Simpson's career that I can't get enough of..... It is one of my guilty pleasures, but I somewhat enjoy watching her go down in flames! I am pretty sure everybody feels the same way, but it gives me pleasure... How in the hell is this chick still getting gigs????? I woke up this morning and there she was on Regis and Kelly... Who is sucking who? Her Dad is proving that magic is real!

But seriously; actually, she is rapidly becoming a characature of herself, a cliched parody for SNL itself. I actually feel embarassed / sorry for her, as she appears so young & convoluted by the whole facade. Perhaps quit listening to the agents & mommy & daddy! Terrible when life's little snafus are on the front page for all to comment on.
But also, honestly, I can think of a host of others that I'd take much more GP in seeing it happen to, AW...

NEW YORK — Ashlee Simpson's (search) Orange Bowl (search) halftime performance was a lemon, according to the 72,000-plus Miami crowd. The 20-year-old singer was soured by a discernible chorus of boos from the audience following a performance of her song "La La."
"You make me wanna scream," she sang before the audience jeered.

Simpson was the finale in a trio of halftime performances, following original "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson and country singer Trace Atkins. The camera cut away from Simpson's face once the booing — or perhaps one of Simpson's "hoe-down" dances — began.
The negative vocal reaction comes months after Simpson's boo-boo last fall during a live performance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," which revealed she used background vocal tracks. The mishap was later attributed to acid reflux.
But the Walt Disney Co. gave the crowd a reason to cheer, dispensing a theme park ticket to every fan in attendance. The giveaway, a promotion that could cost as much as $4.3 million if all the tickets are used, is in honor of the 50th anniversary of its Disneyland park in California.
The second season of Simpson's unscripted MTV reality show, "The Ashlee Simpson Show," premieres Jan. 26 and will capture the "SNL" appearance and preparation for her first nationwide tour, which begins Feb. 18 at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre.

There's a handfull of performers who's capable of executing complex choreography while singing, and they are not dominating the charts today.
Even Destiny's Child has difficulties executing a showoff like that, and they were even raised from birth to do it.
Why does Ashley Simpson think the can be a great performer by sneaking in from the backdoor?
When does she admit, that her voice requires serious training, practice, dedication, heart and creative talent to phrase in a personal and honorable way? And why does MTV ( A MUSIC CHANNEL ) support her in doing a commercial reality show with her? When does this end? What are we serious and ambitious musically focused people doing Wrong?
It's frustrating... It's like the record label won't have anyone with any signs of independent intelligence and competence or self-respect or any other kind of humalitarian behaviour. Why not sign the whole Playboy Mansion while we're at it? They could be the new Spice Girls you know.

I think Shields and Yarnell were better vocalists.
I'd rather watch mimes than Ashlee Simpson...or MTV. Yeah, I'd rather watch mimes and mummenschantz than MTV with all it's big angry black guys with gold teeth and big cars target shooting and the whole reality show that's filmed so that it can't be reality.

It has become [& long been] simply another extremely liberalized, pop culture pandering, trash talk/"reality" show, soap opera, trendy fashion, cheap attitude, sex-sells, silly youth-oriented bubble-gum, little girl beauty pageant, dog-&-pony parade. Wait - is there more?...yes...it is a show of pop politics, BION...oh yeah...& BIG advertising $$...say no more...
